Getting A Job In The Alternative Energy Field

March 7th, 2010

Many people who take jobs in the alternative energies research and development sector have to, at least in the beginning, take relatively low pay. Taking a job in this industry is thus not about-or, not predominantly about-making money, although that is needless to say important, as one who is not well-fed soon becomes one who is not productive at work, especially when we are considering the brain-work involved in the work of researching and developing technologies in the alternative energies sector. There are those who take a job just because they find it is a fulfilling task that they have undertaken-something that is going to help mankind, or their society, or the Earth herself. But in truth, what most people dream of in terms of work is a position that they at once enjoy immensely while they also are receiving good money for their time and energy.

Positions in the alternative energy research and development industry often offer just such an opportunity.

The alternative energy field is in need of a vast array of different positions. Many people who get into this are the kind who would keep the power plants up and running (these include plant operators or mechanics), others are the developers of new alternative energies (engineers, scientists), and others make it all happen to start with by investing in alternative energy. So–not only do these people have the blessing of an exciting and fulfilling career, but these same people are making the world a better place.

The business of alternative energy is rapidly growing due to the fact that many governments are now supporting it. Investors have become excited about putting their financial backing into the alternative energy industry because they can see that it’s the wave of the future, out of both need and the fact of government support. Rising oil prices make alternative energies’ tantalization rise in the minds of investors. As investors become more interested, there is more money available for companies to start up or expand, and that leads (of course) to more job opportunities.

The US government is unquestionably involved in promoting the idea of new jobs as being readily available in the alternative energy sector. According to the President, in order to achieve greater use of “homegrown”, renewable fuels in the United States, advanced technologies need to be researched and developed so as to be able to make ethanol from plant fibers’ biomass, which at the present time is merely discarded as waste material. The President’s 2007 Federal Budget includes $150 million (a $59 million increase over the Federal Budget for 2006) to help with the development of biofuels derived from agricultural waste products such as wood chips, corn stalks, and switch grass. Researchers tell us that furthering the cause of research into cellulose-based ethanol could make the technology cost-competitive by 2012, while potentially displacing up to 30% of the nation’s current fuel consumption.

The President’s plan would additionally drive on next-generation research and development of battery technology for hybrid vehicles in addition to “plug-in hybrid” vehicles. A “plug-in” hybrid runs on either gasoline or electricity, depending upon an on-board computer calculation. Driving in a city setting consumes almost no gasoline over as much as a week’s time with these vehicles.

Healing from Alternative Energy

March 4th, 2010

The principle of alternative energy healing is to use the body’s own energy or “qi” towards good health.

This practice began in the Far East and is still used as a traditional medical treatment there.

But now westerners are realizing the value of alternative energy healing for their aches and pains.

Alternative energy healing uses the principles of balance and harmony to heal.

Practitioners believe that if the body is out of balance, illness will result.

Using various techniques of physical contact combined with the psychological, they attempt to balance the flow of the body’s energy.

There are a number of different kinds of alternative energy healing.

Some of the better known ones are:

Accupuncture. Needles are lightly imbedded into the pressure points of the body, of which there are many, to produce healing.

How do they locate all of the pressure points of the body?

A practitioner has to learn the main pressure points on the body and then can find four more for each one by moving three inches to the north, east, south and west.

Novices should never attempt to practice accupuncture, even if they do know the proper pressure points.

It takes years to properly master the technique of accupuncture and if done improperly by an untrained person, the result could be fatal.

Qigong. Through physical manipulation, the practitioner directs the flow of “qi” through the patient’s body.

Special exercises and movements are used to open up channels into the patient’s energy.

The practitioner then directs the energy from his body into the patient’s body. As a result, balance and harmony are restored to the patient.

T’ai Chi Chuan. If you watch T’ai Chi Chuan in action, you may think it is a form of martial art. It is also a form of alternative energy healing.

In the same way that Qigong does, it uses exercises and body movements to bring about balance. This energy flows from the environment.

The effectiveness of this type of alternative healing has been demonstrated by the aged of the Wudan mountain region of China. In only one example, a 100 year old nun turned her grey hair black through the use of daily T’ai Chi Chuan.

This is an amazing feat.

Some believe that alternative healing such as this may be the secret of immortality.

If we could only get up each morning and practice T’ai Chi Chuan, we would always be able to move.

Biofeedback. This kind of alternative healing uses the power of the mind to promote healing.

People who practice this believe that the mind is the determining factor in illness and many diseases come from psychological causes.

Using “mantras”, the proper psychological level is achieved to rid the body of negative energies.

Many people swear by this type of alternative healing.

People who are very adept at this are even able to control the involuntary functions of the body such as their heartbeat.

It seems difficult to believe, but it is true.

Esoteric. This is an alternative energy healing principle that uses rituals to have outside energies bring balance to the body.

Practitioners believe that certain rituals, along with the proper attitude of the patient, can bring these forces and correct any negative energies.

There are books that practioners refer to that give the secrets of these rituals.

They are kept secret and their power is supposedly increased if they are written by hand. This is the way the secrets are kept to the select few who practice this craft. There are many more of these types of alternative energy healing, and modern science is just starting to see how they can be applied.

Many of these practices work very well to promote healing.

Alternative Energy Facts – Expert Views Revealed

March 1st, 2010

Experts on “green” alternative energy say that the shift from the current petroleum-powered society will not be an entirely easy one. The amount of expertise and infrastructures needed to push that shift looks mind-boggling, although Germany has already shown its capacity to generate at least 10 per cent of its total energy needs from wind turbines and solar clusters. Also there has also been a noticeable rise in the number of companies engaged in power generation that supports the alternative energy goals, moved apparently by rebate incentives and tax amnesties offered by governments involved. The expansive lag we need to close indicates how complacent we have been for a long time on the alternative energy mission. Thus it has not been entirely surprising that we find ourselves today cramming to recover opportunities offered by alternative energy sources.

Alternative energy experts further suggest that there is a need for a coordinated global effort to lessen our almost total reliance on petroleum. This traditional energy source, being largely non-renewable, is bound to become more costly to produce and therefore more expensive to consumers. It is also one of the biggest causes of environmental pollution. Moreover, continued oil exploration by its nature is an ecosystem hazard.

The consensus among experts is that there is enough stockpile for us to enjoy up to 30 years of relatively inexpensive gas and oil. They say that in 20 years after that period countries who remain dependent on that energy source by more than 10 percent of their need would be courting disaster. And yet there is little indication that countries are proceeding in that direction. On the contrary, total demand for oil has been increasing since the 1970s.

Resistance to the shift from traditional to alternative energy sources comes mostly from vested business interests. The oil industry is a huge global business empire. Alternative energy sources can threaten the profitability of this industry and its stakeholders cannot just sit and watch the source of their wealth dissipate into thin air. The logical route therefore, is to promote the profitability in the market of alternative energy sources, something which at present is wanting. Consultants advice that this needs inter-government or multi-lateral support, considering among other things the huge start-up investments and research which such a transition would entail. Moreover, they also concede that even if such international collaboration achieves its immediate objectives, we still need a long time horizon within which an alternative energy regime can be established.

It is important for the well-off countries like Japan, the US, Western Europe and others to lead the effort of minimizing global dependence on oil. Elsewhere it can be tough but poorer countries can never be expected to lift themselves from the looming oil crisis, although they may console themselves with the fact that they can generate power from coal and whatever oil reserves they have. In any event, peoples around the world will have few choices except to wean themselves from imported fuel and develop their capability to generated power from alternative sources. The switch from black oil to alternative green is inevitable, and the time to do it is now.

Investing In Alternative Energy Stocks – New Way To Boost Your Profits

February 17th, 2010

Having a diverse portfolio is something investors will explain is important. This way, you don’t end up putting all of your money in one place and you can make money through many different avenues. One of the areas people are considering is investing in alternative energy stocks. This may sound like a risky venture, but any time you invest your money there is no guarantee you are going to get a positive return. Alternative energy is the wave of the future and with the rise of new companies, this could be a very profitable market. Don’t turn your back too quickly because many investors aren’t.

Analysts’ forecasts are favorable in this area. They say by 2013 it could become a $13 billion dollar industry. There are many ways to look at that. The bright side is that if you find a nice little start up company, you might have on your hands the next Microsoft. That means this tiny company became a conglomerate overnight with a beat on the market. Of course, that is always the dream and rarely happens. Realistically, these small companies could hold lots of potential, especially when a form of alternative energy is picked as the course of the future.

There are a few reasons why investing in alternative energy stocks is a route to consider. The first thing is that more and more companies are researching how to use alternative fuels. There are many on the market already such as ethanol and biodiesels. With gasoline and oil prices being so high and the United States’ dependency on foreign oil, companies want to help eliminate these problems. Alternative energy is also less harmful to the environment. Companies are looking at ways to get renewable energy resources or ones that provide fewer emissions than are currently being used.

However, there is the flip side to investing in alternative energy stocks. It is such an uncertain area and there is no right way to go. You could end up looking at hundreds of different stocks wondering if geothermal is the way to go or is it ethanol companies or solar power. And, that is just three alternatives energies and not counting the other ways companies are trying to find alternative energy. If you take a chance on solar power, it may turn out that oceanic thermal energy was the way all along. There is no real answer.

Anyone considering investing in alternative energy stocks needs to consult with a financial advisor. Many have experience in this market and know more about this sector than anyone you could ever meet. They are going to show you which companies have the best upside and what alternative energy has the best chance at becoming the main power source of the future. The alternative energy market is at an important stage because it is just starting up. Many of these companies have lots of potential to offer and some aren’t even worth looking at. The financial planners will be able to send you in the right direction.

You should be cautious, but most analysts agree that alternative energy stocks are a great place to look if you are considering investing money.
