I read this 5kw system cost $15k. Doing simple math for a ROI looks like this.

8.5 m/s wind resource produces 6,300 kWh / year = 6.3 mWh

6.3 mWh x $120 mWh = $756.00

$15,000 ÷ $756 = 19.84 years before you see a return on your investment. Add interest on top of the principle and it could take 60 years before you see a profit.

There are only a few areas in the country with 8.5 m/s wind resources at ground level.

I suggest you pass on this system.

It does looks pretty though.

Doesn’t make any difference how well it works, will the helix wind turbine be affordable for the ordinary person? How will the ordinary person have it installed, will you help will with more than just selling them? Are you really serious about putting the Helix out there to help people?

For the bird issue: Darwin said it best when he came up with the theory of natural selection. If birds are stupid enough to fly into it, then good, it just means there will be more smart birds.

For the Nuclear Issue: Canada buries stuff deep in the Canadian Shield where even if it contaminated anything there’s miles of bedrock.

For the actual turbine: This is one of the most efficient designs available. In areas with turbulence you can’t put normal wind turbines, you can put this anywhere.
